- must be in writing
In general Roads Service will receive FOI requests in writing. It will be treated as made in writing if it:
- is transmitted by electronic means
- is received in legible form, and
- is capable of being used for subsequent reference
- states the name of the applicant and an address for correspondence
- contains sufficient particulars in relation to the information concerned to enable the record to be identified by the taking of reasonable steps
The request must contain sufficient particulars in relation to the information concerned to enable the records sought to be identified by the taking of reasonable steps. Otherwise, under Section 16 of the FOIA we are committed to providing advice and assistance to the applicant in order to identify and locate the information requested.
