Equity Agenda

Background

The Equity Agenda is made up of three areas: Equality Obligations under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, the Anti-Poverty Strategy and the Human Rights Act 1998.

Roads Service Commitment to the Equity Agenda

Ensuring compliance with, and the promotion of, the Equity Agenda, forms the major part of Roads Service key objective to “Deliver fair, equitable and customer-focussed services”. It is an integral part of our work ethos and plays an important role in terms of service to our customers, i.e. the people of Northern Ireland. It is a matter of us getting the right balance between meeting the needs of the customer, the needs of Roads Service and the requirements and obligations of the Equity Agenda.
